FUT Hero cards are extremely scarce players that are only available in specific packs within Ultimate Team FUT 23 Coins. FUT Hero cards are presented to players who've been a major contributor to an club or who have become popular like former Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-Sung.

Due to their incredibly rarity, they are often priced extremely high in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team's transfer market with some items such as Yaya Toure being sold in the region of 1.9 million FUT coins, which a prominent third-party website selling coins values around PS400.

However, EA had a mistake and released the packs in error, and then flooded the market with a large quantity of the item which saw price drop dramatically, with some losing more than one million coins in value, around PS200 in the event of purchasing through a third-party.

EA has not yet made a statement regarding the mistake. However, the harm to the market is permanent. The majority, if not all players are losing value, and though the market has recovered somewhat following the removal of the pack and the consequent shortage of FUT Hero items, the loss of coins will not be able to be reversed.

Anyone who was able to buy the pack may be in much better luck because the pack was advertised as not tradeable (meaning the item could not be traded via the exchange market) previously, where EA has sold a product with incorrect descriptions usually, they compensate players who bought the original pack buy FIFA 23 Coins. In other words, some players may receive two FUT Hero cards at a cost of as low as 25000 coins.
